KIAST consideringthe sky, humans, andthe future

Dear Visitors!
Thank you very much for visiting the KIAST web page.

KIAST is a specialized aviation safety institute dedicated to fostering experts in aviation safety technologies and performing certification, testing, research and technology development work for aircraft accident prevention.

Established in 2013, KIAST was designated as a specialized quality inspection institution for air navigation safety facilities in 2014 and a specialized aircraft type certification institution in 2015. In 2017, KIAST became an integrated aviation certification institution when the safety certification works for light sport aircrafts and ultra-light vehicles were transferred to KIAST.

In addition, KIAST was entrusted in 2017 with the work of aviation risk factor analysis and identification and international standard research, playing the core role in establishing an aircraft accident prevention system conforming to international standards. By promoting the safety of unmanned aerial vehicles and activating relevant industries, KIAST is also contributing to the formation of an industrial foundation to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

KIAST will contribute to the advancement of Korea’s aviation industry to the international level by continuously making earnest efforts to perform R&D work for aviation safety and to foster specialized human resources on the basis of trust, communication, and justice, which are the core values of this institute. We are determined to do our best to be a specialized aviation safety institute as well as an aviation safety think-tank loved by the Korean people.

Thank you very much.
